I feel real comfy with my older than most posters on this forum 182B. I day dream a lot and imagine being in a Maule, or a Super Cub or a Husky or a 180 or a Scout and sometimes in a Champ and even thought about Stinson. All of these are really neat planes.

Then I come down to earth and figure my 182B does most of what I like to do. Come to think of it. it is the best plane made.

After I got my private, a buddy with a Musketeer told me if I paid for half the annual and half the insurance I could fly it anytime I wanted. At that time it was the best plane ever made cus I was at the controls. Put 100+ hrs on that plane.

At the JC fly in I lusted after every plane on the ramp, well accept the Cherokee.

Think we can all agree that the best plane is the one that we can get behind the controles of.

Wup,

We all know you M types just can't hep yerselves. We forgive you your sins, even though you COULD be flying an Ercoupe instead.......

Boy, if you want to see a bunch of uptight sumbitches, troop on over to that there 180/185 site, or get your butt burned on the 170 site, by the King of 170's.

Hell, Jeremy sells Maules, and does a damn good job of it. He really doesn't need all that much help, in my experience 8) .

Okay, maybe you should look into a really good Ercoupe....

Broke?

Polygamist?

I'm pretty sure my current mistress wouldn't tolerate my having another aircraft. Heck, I bought a snowmachine one year, thinking I could just ignor her till summer and she sprouted cancer (corrosion) in one wing forcing me to sell the machine to fix her. I don't want to imagine what would happen if I brought another aircraft home  She'd probably kill me!

Wup, you need to STC grafting Maule barn doors on to 2 dr planes. Now that would make choosing a lot harder.

Through scientific deduction and ESP I have determined everybody would fly Maules if not for the insurance.

You all know the charter of this web community is broad acceptance. This means that you must submit yourself and your airplane, whatever type it may be, to criticism and possible ridicule. We'll spare your wives and pets.

And for the record, no one ever made fun of Maules. We just made fun of the people whose patented response is "Get a Maule!"

...which is fine with me, as long as the question was "What airplane is right for me?" and not "how does this prop make my butt look?"

But I am only the janitor. I can only make suggestions and fake forums. Gimme a break, I have no A/C and my office feels like a Vietnamese kitchen.

Too true, unfortunately... the King of 170's aka King George, the reason I left the 170 site, & part of the reason I left the 170 Assn.

The butt-looking-big remark reminds me of a TV ad I saw for a mattress company, illustrating the dangers of sleep deprivation. A guy's groggily laying in bed while his wife is trying on clothes. Her: "Honey, do these jeans make my butt look big? ". Him: "it's not the jeans."

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

I talked to Jeremy yesterday before he took off for burning man. Sort of surprised me, but he thought I should get a Maule... 8)

Mike - there's been a Mooney Cadet hanging around here lately - do you want me to talk with the driver and see if he'll trade for your TC? :D

kind of interesting to see how passionate people get about their airplanes... I love my cub, and really like the way an old Ag Cat flies, but I hope I never get so narrow focused that I quit trying to fly every model or type I can get my mitts on!
as a side note, anyone know of a c180 or stearman willing to trade for a cub? (I want to build an experimental cub but need another ride while I'm down)
