High-Wing Fueling Survey
Nothing happens without it. Discuss fuel locations, quality, alternatives, and anything else related to this critical resource.

Hello everyone! I am a senior in high school and a student pilot developing a ladder for fueling high-wing aircraft. If you could take a couple minutes to take a survey, it would be very useful to me. Thank you!

Enough people have said this is legit that I'm deleting my warning post. Good luck to the OP!

You are definitely right about that! I'd be concerned too, but I did just make my account today to post this. It is part of an assignment, and I really wanted to get feedback from pilots who would use such a device. Sorry for any worries!

The kid seems legit. I checked out the link and it's ok. Phishing only works if you're stupid enough to download a file, provide sensitive data at request, or follow a link that will download malicious files for you. I'm sure a sneaky attacker could use Google forms to this end but it's rare.
Good for you being cautious, JP256.

I did it. Seems legit. Kids probably got assignments from school during his social isolation ! I left some feedback for design. Good luck on your project and let us know if you need more help.

Done. As a high school teacher, I’d definitely encourage others to participate. It’s clear this young man is motivated and has much to contribute to the aviation community.

You forgot to include 5'10" or 5'11" as height choices.

Done! I did mention that I felt the vertical position of the ladder is dangerous and there needs to be more slope/angle to it. As we age or from accidents/injuries our balance can deteriorate or has left some of us less 'mobile'. Handling a refueling hose or even refueling jugs can be risky when going straight up. JM2C

I have taken this as well. There is a good amount of ladder requirements in OSHA and NIOSH. I know that most of us would not fall under OSHA, however, if flying for a company them may well. I would encourage you to look at that information while in the design phase. Vertical ladders are the worst for working from. Your design does not appear to reach the ground. You may want to consider retractable rods in the outside verticals of the ladder that can be pulled out and take most of the weight to the ground.
Nice work keep it up.

We don't want the 'pinions of people of that height 'round here.

I used a ladder and figured I needed 27 in of height to confirm the tanks were full in a 185 with 8.00s. I am 5'8.
Probably only need 20 in to dip the inner filler caps but can use the struts for that.

Haha! I'm not completely useless. I can be used as a bad example.
