Hill top strip south of Lebanon, OR?

Anyone know anything about this little strip on a hill top just south of Lebanon? I'd noticed it when I was a budding pilot and thought it looked "insane" #-o then saw that there was just some glider/ultra-light parked there so I assumed just those guys used it, which they probably only do, with that I brushed it off and kind of forgot about it until today. Now finally with a capable aircraft I was flying home from Sisters and had to take a bathroom break, I couldn't make it the three minutes to Lebanon, so I declared an emergency and landed on the hill top strip...

It turned out to pretty cool, a nice commanding view of the valley and it seemed some what maintained to me, though the glider/ultra-light thing looked as if it was a little overgrown, but the strip seemed like it had been mowed this year and there was a small shack with a decent windsock on it. I measured 400' of "useable" or "mowed" space on google earth, though the first 100-150' seemed too steep/bumpy for me to touch down, so really rather 250' for my capabilities. Anyways I just thought it was a cool strip and wonder if anyone knows who or what user group may own the strip? I was hoping I might be able to get some actual permission to land there and have a picnic or something

Also while talking about strips in this area does anyone know anything about the private strip in Sweet Home that's north of Highway 20, just north of the railroad tracks and south of the Santiam? Would be another cool place to get permission to land to fish the Santiam, its not listed on airnav.com or anything. The only formal reference to it that I've ever seen is its actually shown on a fishing map of the South Santiam in a gazetteer style rivers of Oregon fishing map.

With all that, any information that anyone has would be very much appreciated!

Ask around at Friday morning coffee at Lenharts, somebody in that bunch probably knows.

I stop at Lebanon when float flying to/from Green Peter and Cougar Lake. Lebanon Airport is convenient for fuel and the prices are low too.

Glad you mentioned the airstrip I now remember seeing it.

The strip in Sweet Home by the Santiam River, next to the RR tracks, and power lines on the E end. and runs E-W is definitely closed. It has had white X's on both ends for many years. I believe it belonged to the Stock family. They may have sold it to a developer. That whole riverfront area got goppled up by a developer that went broke, got sideways with the Feds? It turned into a mess.

The strip on top of Washburn Heights, where you landed, I believe belongs to a fellow that has an ultralight? I've heard tell of a 180-185 landing there, wet grass, bad results! I believe it left on a trailer. The innocent shall remain nameless. Pretty short strip!

If you are in Lebanon and see the red/white amphib, stop by, I'll give you a ride.
