Happy New BAS Day
I have been working through an issue with my engine, lots of metal in filter, it had sat for a few years, the question was corrosion or engine coming apart....I have been working with my mech through a lycoming SB to answer this question...so far after about three hours and two oil changes looking at filter, no significant particles seen...so I keep flying ( I did consider selling, but in the end I'll keep going with this plane). So, finished installing a set of BAS harnesses today. very happy about this.

Good call on both. We ran 0-320s and 0-360s for an average 3,000 hr TBO. Occasionally more than average metal would show up in the oil. Continued checking usually allowed continued use. However, we put about 1200 hours on each engine per year.

Good move installing the BAS harnesses! Just read MTV's story on his 185 engine failure, that will make anyone a BAS harness believer.
