I am going to go way out on a limb here and bet an adult beverage the plane was found on the LEFT side of the runway pretty close to the point where he applied the throttle.... 8)

I am guessing ol P factor saved the cub from certain death. [-o<

Either A&P's are the FAA's next target, or it was the Monday after the Party. Funny how quotation marks can make speculation acceptable reporting, even from the AP.

Damn right, I would rather spend the winter in jail, than in a tent in Maryland. Heat, free food and warm clothes... Oooh yea.. :wink:

Besides, lookin through the fence, some of those Cub drivers didn't look that damn smart anyway, figured it couldn't have been that tough ta fly one..

"Three hots and a cot" must sound pretty good when you're cold and hungry out in the brush.
And who knows, that hobo mighta used be the hottest stick that ever flew the back country. Back when I lived in LA, we used to see bums sleeping in doorways, etc when we were working downtown and joked about them being "ex-low bidders".

Actually he still looks like that!! I'll bet this guys instructor said" you make ten good take offs and ten good landings, I'll solo you. Oh hell, IF you you can scale that fence and get it started, I'll solo you! Hey it happens! =D>

Is this the sort of "through-the-fence operations" that the FAA is taking a stand against? Now I get it.....
