At least for me, it seems you need to be logged in for the "Hot Air" to show up.

That's intentional, so that Google doesn't index the Hot Air threads during its nightly crawls.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

I can somewhat sympathize with the desire to protect your site with such a feature.

One of the other sites I visit has a similar feature as well. One difference that I enjoy there is that the Thread title still appears on the " Recent forum topics" list on the home page. It then directs you to an intermediate page that suggests the topic you are seeking is of volatile nature, proceed at your own risk. Seems like a great way to keep people alert to current "risque" topics while protecting those who may not want to accidentally step in the doo.

Just a thought?

Take care, Rob

It's true, I can't win. Can't wait to sit around the Hot Air campfire this year :)

How about we make it so that if you join the Hot Air usergroup, you see the Hot Air threads? That way the user has to opt-in to be annoyed by that stuff.

Give me a week to make that happen.

Geeze, are some folks really offended by that kind of stuff? Seems to me that they ought to simply not read things they don't like.

As far as keeping the crawlers out, I kind of thought it was something like that. Good idea. Keeping it in the family so to speak seems wise.

You'd be surprised at the emails and PM's I sometimes get in regards to stuff.
