Re: I bought my first airplane!

Dont fly with those nylon/poly pants on or any poly type of clothing. If in an accident and fire is involved that stuff will melt and stick to you!

Unrelated, feel free to ask me about my opinion of local engine shops lolololololol

Ha. Well, kinda rented the hangar next to your cub. And thirty minutes later it sold. So I'll be looking for a new spot by the end of the month.

Yes let's fly soon! Heading to AK this weekend. Otherwise I'd be out there

You're thinking of Alex's cub... I am not foolish enough to own 2 airplanes haha (kidding Alex). My 180 is in Boulder.

Ha. You are right. Getting y'all confused.

That there is funny, but true!

Ohh ya. Sadly though, the hangar is only mine until the end of the month. And the new owner is already throwing an RV in there. And not the flying kind either.

Re: I bought my first airplane!

A killer first plane - got the trike version 9 months ago as my first bird and after 2 weeks in the Montana/Idaho backcountry earlier this year was blown away at how fun the short wing is in the canyons, you’ll love it for years to come! Not too bad on power as long as you keep it light and don’t watch the carbon cub guys take off. I’ve got a 56” prop twist on the 150, have heard 58” is the way to go for 160, highly recommend that and VGs for STOL life, big help for our lower horsepower planes. Enjoy!

I've been researching into prop twist as well. It has a 60 now. Likely will go to a 58 like you mentioned. And VG's seem like a no brainier. I kinda want to fly it as is and get use to it. Then see what differences I see here at our high DA's. And also level out from all this spending. Airplane, insurance, hangar, ANR, shoulder harnesses, hangar stuff, CFI for tailwheel, etc.

Spdcrazy - congrats on the airplane! A Pacer will teach you many lessons inexpensively.

They say the only reason not to own two airplanes, is when you can own three! But I'll stick with this one for now. Haha

Yes I got extremely lucky. Bought it with a fresh annual ($5500) old old transponder and radio but they function. And for 20k

Damn, the Annual cost 5500? Or the repairs that came with the Annual?
