I've not been a regular poster here, I've added on occasion, but I've PM'd many of you about many topics - all of your responses and feedback have been invaluable.

I've been the beneficiary of one of this board's members who gifted me a Garmin GPS for almost nothing. So I thought I'd share with you my new little friend:

2001 Rans S6-S - 116 Wing, 100hp Rotax and a SEXY AM/FM Cassette player.

Upgrades this week: New 10" Matco wheels, tires, tailwheel, and brakes (similar to what is on the new S-20's), new beefed up landing gear legs (no Roberts Gear unless John wants me to model a set on the S6) from Rans and changing out the blue fuel lines with Barrier hose.





Hoping to have everything on and flying next week or shortly thereafter!!!

Yep - one in the same. I saw it 30 seconds after he posted it for sale. I called immediately and was essentially first in line. Righteous seller, righteous plane, great deal for my first airplane!

So my new plane has been sitting in a trailer and now at Rick Hayes of Hayes Aero (aviators12 here on the board) getting some much needed upgrades. Wheels, tires, gear, axles and brakes....oh...and a new tailwheel.

Good choice of plane, and it looks like you've already made some great mods. Now go fly it a lot and learn all it can do. The fall weather will spoil you with clear days and cool air, so the plane will be performing at its best!

Finally got to fly her. Had a great time considering how badly it started!!! By the end of the day I was greasing the landings...unlike my first try!
