Love it!!!! When I was a kid, we would drive by an old gas station in Salt Lake that had an Ercoupe mounted on the roof and my eyes were glued to the windows whenever we passed by. Big deal for a kid who loved airplanes.

Your plane will be a landmark in the area and a few kids will be treated to a drive-by when they pass. They will grow into airport rats and…

Prop needs to spin methinks :D :D :D

the prop does spin, but it takes north of 10 knots of wind. The tips are 3M reflective tape, so if you go by on a windy night with your high beams on, it strobes.

Col Glenn is my brother. (His son was at the WAD). He spent most of his time as a F-15 guy, but also other stuff at Edwards. He is some sort of Commander of the Western US?? He is retiring this June, so I thought he needed to stay in the air some more as the pilot of the pole-sitter airplane.

Nicely done! I especially liked the flexible solar module on the wing top, conforming to the airfoil section, nice touch and less obtrusive then a less expensive rigid module. I watched the vid with the sound down, so I'm assuming the bucket truck was an after thought? If so, join the club, many times the crew and the crane guy get all focused on the initial rigging and making the pick, and then...... Oh hell, how do we un rig it!

Nice tires. :D

What's the prop? It looks like fan off a large diesel engine.
