I guess I'm in the club now!

Owning an aircraft has many special considerations like financing, taxes, inspections, registration, and even partnerships. You can post questions on buying and selling procedure. Please post type-specific questions and topics in the Types forum.

I guess I'm in the club now!

I guess I can join Tadpole and the rest of you guys in the ownership ranks (ok, its not the best backcountry plane, but you gotta start somewhere!)

I've been very fortunate the last week or so. I've spent the last several months trying to find out about planes and get my hands on one. Like many guys, I started on Barnstormers.com, but the guy who owns my flight school, Chris Georgas, http://pacificrimaviation.ca/ took me under his wing and started sending me to look at real planes. A lot of stars aligned, I came to know some very nice guys, and I now own a 1/4 share in a 1972 C-150L that doesn't get flown too much by the two other partners.

I've still got lots of flying to do before I get my ticket, but this should be a good plane to nail the basics down on before I end up with floats.

I'll try to get insurance and keys worked out tomorrow and get it up in the air. I hear it flies well.

Keep it light and you can do quite a bit with that bird.

Notice how easily it dispatches that big stick at 0:22

Congrats...sure everyone has some 150 stories to tell. I did a few dumb ass moves in one as a student pilot while learning to fly. Aside from an Experimental they are about the most affordable flying you can do.

Congratulations Rob, You'll love that little plane soon. I still have mine and I am leasing it out. I have one kid flying it now and need one more to help share costs. There are some good stories here:

Read the story about the "Atlantic Crossing" in the Xcountry area. A guy actually flew one across the Atlantic.

Good luck with the new plane!
