Got back from Idaho this afternoon -30-40 knot head winds from Central Idaho to Las Vegas ---Glad to e home and home cooked meals.
Finally had Breakfast not of SPAM or Beans and Whines ---- Saw a pair of Platas PC-12's land and takeoff from Garden Valley --- Really quiet . Also bozo and his wife (?) drove motorhome with trailer
on airfield hauling a R-22 Helicopter .I used U88 -Garden Valley as my base (brand new showers ) and great airstrip . Had Courtesy car (chevy pickup )fro a day to go to town for resupply . U88 quiet airstrip with a little traffic ,gun range right across the highway where I burned up some ammo . Saw lots of animals ,racoons, deer, skunks, and bear (tracks in mud-about 100yards from my tent) -saw a wolf up close a personnel( 15 yards ). Overall a really good time off --- just wish I was closer / that 700 mile commute .

You wish that you lived closer to Idaho? Well come Monday my buddy and I will start our annual westward trip. This year for the second time Idaho, from our home base 03ma in western Massachusetts. Last year Colorado, the year before Wyoming, the year before that Montana, and the year before that Idaho. I fly my Maule one year and then we go in his Cessna 180 the next. Great fun, but it would be much nicer to live closer.

Well I'm home now and sure miss the cool. May go back middle of Sept. to Colorado for Mike's Annual. Today here in Boulder City ,NV. it was 111 degrees at 2 pm -checked up north in Idaho and it barely hit 80 degrees.
