Idaho vs Montana vs Wyoming for flying and living

Hey guys,
I'm volunteering with the USFS/NPS this summer/fall and have a few choices of locations: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. For Montana/Wyoming, i'm kind of limited to the Yellowstone area, but for Idaho, I can be pretty much anywhere.

During my volunteering time, I'd like to also pick up some flight training.

The question is: If you were in my shoes and needed to learn how to fly AND want to enjoy the great outdoors, what state/area would you pick?

The northern half of IDaho, the western part of Montana and the wind river range in Wyoming

Montana has so many hollywood types it's hard to get along in some parts.

Hells canyon, Lewiston, Orofino are too hot in the summer. Elk river is very nice with a truly great little grass airport.

Boise, Idaho would be a good choice. You can check out Air-O-Drome at Caldwell for flight training. Very good people at Air-O-Drome! Lots of great strips within an hours flight from the Boise area!!

Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,

McCall, ID. is a good place to hang, we do have flight training in a Cessna 172 and some good instructors around here, $140/HR aircraft at this time.. Mtn. flying is taught here too. Surrounded by forest with a nice mtn. lake so great for outdoor pleasures. Big USFS presence here also. Not much for night life up here though. Good luck in your search.

I think Idahoplanenut is right, McCall would be a great place to learn to fly. If your not into the night life thing and you can be based at McCall or nearby, that would be a great place to hang for the summer/fall!! Boise is a short drive south for the night life thing.

Of course I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with Texas? Some of the most enjoyable flying I've done was there.
