Idaho wildflower plague finally abating

I am glad spring is over, the last few weeks everywhere I go the hillsides have been infested with wildflowers. The bright colors are distracting, and their profusion slows down the takeoff roll. Coming back from a solar panel delivery flight:Image another site just a mile away also infestedImage A few days later across the valley from homeImage Another site, overcome by the noxious growth.Image I tried going higher, this site is at 7600' but couldn't get away from them. Image This last site, surrounded by rocky cliffs, was a little better, but still needed a good dose of ROUNDUP.ImageImage The Airstreaks at 2.5 psi and parked on the sideslope, I guess they won't roll off the wheels, hasn't happened yet anyways!Image

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

A couple more, from this AM. 8700', I took a thermos of good coffee and a lawn chair with me and started my day up there. Not a bad view either, just 100+ miles or so! Note how the rocky shale seems to have a grain, I mean it sticks up more in one direction then the other, and of course that is the direction the prevailing winds make you land mostly. These were pretty blunt, some, if I was a primitive man, would be useful for stabbing mastodons or whatever, they are that sharp. One is out there with COURIERGUY written on it in big letters, just waiting for me, maybe. I always have an airpump and patch kit onboard just in case. That is my big fear, making a perfectly safe landing, but losing a tire, and a big reason why I like the very low pressures, 2.5 psi is my fav right now, where the tire can just deform around a sharp rock rather then get slashed. That's the idea anyway  ImageImageImage
