A Cessna 180 went down. Fortunately the pilot was unharmed and the passengers sustained "Non life threatening injuries", whatever that means.

Some of you Alaska folks might have more details.

Interesting. The pilot is a friend of mine. Excellent flier, tons of experience up here. I'll have to get the story from him.

Weather- seems the conditions instantaneously went from decent VFR to solid whiteout. 13th year of flying with the IAF- extremely experienced. The 180 was totaled, sadly, but all three on board had only minor injuries, as the article said. Another pilot in the area quoted saying he'd never seen anything like it happen so quickly.

Sad about the plane. Glad to hear he made it out okay. Good chance his experience pulled them through. Of course, it will be written up as "Pilot Error".

I have a veterinarian friend up there right now. It's her third year volunteering. I was glad to see she wasn't on board or I'd never be able to get her back into a small plane.

Glad the pilot is ok and REALLY ! glad he wasn't flying a Maule.
