To all
We have been thinking about changing the O-Ring size on our Gascolator's to a size that is easier to get a hold of. Right now our O-Ring is a Metric 41 X 2 MM. We found that the AS568-130 standard size is very close to the 41 X 2 and can be used with moderate modification done to the Gascolator cover. Now don't go out and buy a bunch of the -130 O-Ring's. It is not a direct replacement because the O-Ring groove will have to be widened and made a little deeper to accommodate it on the cover.
My main question to you guys that have our unit or are thinking about buying one but have been held up because of the O-Ring size is..............just how readily available is the -130 O-Ring to you..??
Keep in mind that we still want to keep the Viton75 compound because it will hold up to all known fuels.
So...let me know....Can you walk over to your O-Ring supply in your shop and pick out a -130..?? Does your local hardware/hydraulic store have a couple of -130's on the shelf..?? Will changing our O-Ring size make it easier to service our unit..??
Thanks for your time.
Brian.
PS...I am going to be posting this on other forums so if you are a member of both please only respond to one of them....Thanks....
