Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process...

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
Success has many fathers...... Failure is an orphan.
This method will certainly save money, but unless there are numerous IR units on the field, flight delays would be tremendous waiting for the oven.
With the useless 'passenger bill of rights', which prohibit having pax on for more than 3 hours before take-off, I do not see this happening.

Having been based in JFK for nearly 7 years and having flown into JFK for 7 prior to that, I have never seen one aircraft use it. The only time I've seen an aircraft inside the structure was to partially shield the shuttle atop the 747 when they flew it in last year before removing it and sending it via barge to its new museum home. The running joke is that someone's relative got a nice junk of money for getting that contract!
