ISO: 4 place Bearhawk Kit or Wings/Fusalage

Pretty sure the Luscombe has sold so I am now actively looking to get into a 4place Bearhawk. If anyone knows of a BH kit or maybe some wings and/or fuselage send me a PM.

4 place, Patrol or LSA? I've got an extra set of Original Patrol & 4 place plans, plus a bunch of rib forms and blanks I bought from another builder that I don't need.

Make sure Mark at Bearhawk Aircraft knows you're looking. He's often a good communication hub for people trying to offload kits. Or you can just buy a new complete kit from him. :)

Thanks for the offer but I don't want to build wings from scratch.

Whee,

I thought you already bought a Bearhawk? I'm not far from OSH if you want me to run up and verify anything for you. Just send a PM.

In NZ, the ICAO designator for the Bearhawk is simply "BEAR". So the ATC just calls it a "Bear".

I think this is ideal, because it's basically a grown-up Cub anyway

I thought I had bought it too. About the time I found a way to pay for it without borrowing money that legislation about medicals was introduced so the seller unexpectedly, to both him and I, decided to keep the plane and see what congress decides to do. I really can't blame him, I'd like to see him fly the plane he spent years building, but I wish the deal would have worked out. I still fly it every now and then just so it doesn't sit and so the owner can get some experience in it. We are planing to take it to several fly-ins this year.

Thanks for the offer to check out the kit at osh Joe. I should be getting pics of it soon and may be in touch.

Cool deal, Whee!

I mean, it's too bad your other deal didn't work out but I agree with your feelings about the builder/owner getting to fly the project he poured that much effort into.

Building (assembling) is a heck of a lot of fun. I imagined myself just tightening bolts and ripping through the process but it's actually been more like hours of online shopping and research about various products/hardware specs/proper ways to do certain tasks, etc. It's much slower than I imagined, but I'm loving it. The Bearhawk community is well established and there's always someone to ask. I remind myself to enjoy the building and forget about the flying part.

I think you're going to find yourself way better off having built your own.

Dang, Whee. I'm sorry your deal didn't work out. I'm all for the new legislation and I feel for the guy after all he put in it, but you were awfully deep in the deal to have that happen. You're a big guy for handling it the way you are.

Things happen for a reason. Congrats on the sale and best of luck on finding your perfect plane.

Yeah, I put a lot of effort into getting that plane to fly right and it still has some things that need work but it was a great learning experience and that is how I am trying to look at it.

A Super Cyclone would be pretty cool and would probly be a better fit for what I am hoping my flight profile will be for the next long while but I think a BH will be a plane that will do the job and in 20years when it is just me and the wife I won't want to downsize.
