It's Alaska

For those who might not know the back story, here is the link:
https://www.backcountrypilot.org/community/forum/latest/co-id-wy-mt-ak-17523

As I looked through all the video clips from this trip I tried to figure out how to edit them together, keep em short, and yet still convey the remarkable adventure. I decided for this first video I'd leave it intact even though a big part is just flying in Alaska. I hope that those who've never been to Alaska get a sense of what I felt.

After flying across the Cook Inlet from Sterling we landed an inland river to turn on the camera, then took off and headed up country.

(If you get "something in your eye" while watching this you're in good company, I did)

Very nice! Neutral Density filter will get rid of the propeller artifact.

Haven't been able to find one for the Drift Ghost S camera.

This video isn't as dramatic as the first, and perhaps only cool to me because it was my first time on a glacier. But here it is anyways.

Re: It's Alaska

You can go on-line or to a good camera store and purchase Neutral Density filter "paper"--a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of it. Then cut out a small lens-sized circle and place it behind your Ghost cam lens. That's what I did for an original GoPro a couple of years go. Takes a bit of practice so you don't end up with wrinkles when you install it but one can do it. Works.

Re: It's Alaska

The guy at VibeX sells a filter kit for the Drift Ghost. They stick on externally. We've used them a bunch, seem to stay on well.

I'll give those filter selections a try, thanks. In the meantime here is another from that first day of flying.

Will you keep SQ2 at your new residents? Very cool!

That's my plan. Then use the 185 to travel back and forth, or a smoker if in a hurry.

Paradise. Nothing, I know of, is better than flying Alaska. Very good move Phil. I love Alaska too :D

Great for floats too (my "signature" SE Alaska video):

Re: It's Alaska

I'm going through Alaska withdrawals so I decided to put together another video from the trip up to see my new place. It's a long one (36 minutes) cause it's my video and I need my fix. ;-) But I think you'll like it anyway. I promise I'll get the ND filter thing soon.
