It was cold and smooth as silk

It was a cold day here, about 0 F. The plane needed a bit of a preheat, started on the second blade and the air was, well smooth as silk.

The day was crystal clear and the wind did not pick up until about 15:00 and was right down the center of the run way.

All and all a good start to the year.

Here too!

Warmed to about 18 here, with a 13 to 15 mph wind right out of 070. Be OK if the wind didn't blow as the wind chill is a bear! Runways are packed snow and ice. So I was crabbing down 03 while landing and it was still pushing me towards the left hand snow burm.

But yes it was smooth. Hands off flying.

See ya, Bub

Robert "Bub" Wright, aka Skylane, passed away in November of 2011. He was a beloved community member and will be missed.

It was beautiful this morning when we landed in Boise this morning too. It was about 15 degrees, clear and calm. It was one of those crisp winter mornings. I was glad to be flying. :)

Just when I'm ready to pull the trigger on buying my own plane, life gets in the way. Well to hell with that!

Down South, it was windy as heck, so I stayed down and did honey do's. Last night though at 24:00 it was clear for flying. Fireworks look neat from an airplane :D
