J-3 Cub Time

My friend Clint owns a beautiful J-3 Cub. I have always wanted to fly one but have never had the opportunity. He said I could fly his but he said the only problem was it is hangared in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I said no problem, we'll take my skywagon and be there in no time.

How could anyone not love a cub?

Clint let me chose my seat to fly from. Figured I would give it a go from the back since that's where they are soloed from.

Clint trying to give me a view of the panel. Can't see much with someone in the front so it was pretty much seat of the pants like it should be.

Scottsbluff has some amazing landscape. The J-3 was perfect to circle in and out of the formations.

All in all an awesome day. A dream come true finally. Thanks Clint! I hope I didn't scare you too bad landing it.

Sweet!! =P~

A friend of mine almost restored a J-3. Then decided to sell it and build a Breezy.

Van's ads talk about "the RV grin"-- seems like the Cub grin pre-dated that by many many years.
