JC One Last "Last" time

Hey everyone,

Just had to rub in that I was able to make more last unplanned trip to JC this year. Gene said it has been getting into the low 20s at night. I think I should have brought my other bag!

Anyway, having a good time. There are actually quite a few aircraft here. Even a 206 on amphibs. Kind of cool to see it here.

Wifi is great to have.

No, unfortunately not. I had a friend from our flying club that had been wanting to get up to Idaho all summer long and we finally were able to make it work. So it was him, his wife, and me. We only stayed one night. It got down to the low 20s that night. We then went over to BC for some breakfast, did a little sight seeing, and then back to JC to get our gear. I'm glad we weren't any later getting out because there was quite a bit of virga forming around Smiley Creek and a south of Burley, ID. It took a bit of a detour to get home that day.

There were some pilots from Switzerland up there in a couple of fairly heavily loaded 172SPs. I watched a mid-afternoon departure by one of them that made my sphinxer severely constrict. He dumped his flaps early and lost quite a bit of altitude. Not pretty.

There was also a guy in there with a 206 on Amphibs. That was kind of cool to see. He had a heck of a time climbing out of there though.

With any luck, I'll be taking the family south the first of next month to Ibex and Huntington. They are ready to go play again.

Thanks for the report. Glad you had some entertainment watching others. Say hi to the family.
