Re: Jughead and Moto flying great scenic gravel bars,

Great flying and great filming. Jughead gets great shots from the ground. Your very skillful short final speed reduction, which appears to be a constant brisk walk rate of closure all the way down, shows up well. We all have watched round out and hold off technique, on the other hand, which appears to be a speed up in the rate of closure on short final.

Your AOA indicator helps you achieve this slow up on short final, but I didn't see one in Jughead's 170. I bet Jughead, who also slows down on short final, perceives and makes use of the apparent speed up of this rate of closure to know when and how much to pitch up, slow down, and add enough power to arrest the greater sink rate.

Jughead is an amazing pilot, no AoA , no STOL kits, no VGs, he will put some Super Cubs to shame.
Me, I learned with the AoA since couldnt find a backcountry instructor in CR, and I had to do it on my own, the AoA was my instructor. :)

Another great video!!!! I have a farm acreage, some trees that I can practice maneuvering around when approaching the grass along our runway. Nothing like the video but I can pretend.
