Jump seats

Just brought my new to me 1956 182 home. Totally modded up and checks almost all my intended boxes. Removing rear bench seat for space and weight and am looking for a folding jumpseat- left or right and any brand. Any ideas please text, call or email.
Thanks

Re: Jump seats

There are basically two flavors: F. Atlee Dodge (now owned by Univair): https://www.univair.com/atlee-dodge/ces ... p8QAvD_BwE

Or Lakevue: http://lakevueaeronautics.com/id2.html

They are a wee bit different, but both work just fine. Pick one.

Re: Jump seats

Dodge & Lakevue both sell singles:

Dodge $1855
https://fadodge.com/removable-folding-jump-seats/

LakeVue $1500
http://lakevueaeronautics.com/id2.html

Looks like both options require an install kit and/or seatbelt attach fittings,
apparently not included in the seat price.

I've sat in Dodge seats, the metal pan is not very comfortable.
My BAS (LakeVue) seat bottoms are ceconite covered & are less uncomfortable.
Might not be an issue for you-- throw pillows are cheap.
custom upholstery not so much.

Re: Jump seats

Thanks for info; we'll probably fly and make friends with 182 and then add a few things. I'll research both seats and plan to order one for the rare passenger we'll pickup. Basically be a two seater and gear. Our Husky is not very accommodating for two and 180/185 insurance at my age was really going to be an issue. I think we're going to have a blast with this light plane.

Re: Jump seats

When I was running 185s for work, all our planes had the Atlee rear folders. Putting crews out in the bush with all their gear typically wound up being a two passenger and lots of gear operation, largely due to fuel requirements due to distance and the size of a lot of the “gear”…..like outboards, etc.

So, we rarely used one of the folding back seats. My current plane has only one of Atlee’s seats installed, and that’s been just about perfect for what I do. I think you’ll find that to be a very functional setup.
