Not looking good.

I heard a sort of chilling account on a local pilots facebook page last night. Guy on FB was flying near junction monitoring center, heard the communication back and forth between this airplane and controllers. They asked if he (accident airplane) was instrument rated, he responded that he was but proceeded to have some trouble following the controller's instructions, s turns all over, inconsistent altitudes, etc...while starting to sound flustered on the radio. Everyone started listening for ELT shortly after, which was eventually heard somewhere near meeker.

Re: Junction Crash

Doesn't sound very hopeful. Wonder what caused the in flight breakup.

Re: Junction Crash

Starting to show up in the local news. Looks like they departed from Salt Lake and might have been local.

Reports are the airplane is a Bonanza B-35. Overspeed? Flutter?

Not looking good for them. Sad news.

Only takes seconds to hit redline with a Bo!
Pretty easy to get one out of coordination and then hit the spiral, came close to it once myself, only thing I could remember was gently, gently don't pull the tail off!!
The reason I got my IFR rating!!
They used to pull the tail off when pulling up hard over redline, then they put a beefup kit on them, now you go a little faser and then it pulls the fuselage apart in front of the tail!!
Ya just have to go so fast until it comes apart!!
So Sad for all involved! Thoughts for them.
