Keg Knoll, UT - TR

Friday we managed to pick our way through some storms to central Utah to do some exploring at Keg Knoll. Keg Knoll hasn't seen a lot of use over the recent years, but about a month ago six of us from the UBCP went over and cleared about 1,200' of the strip. It's still a little rough and kind of soft, but 800s and up handled it, although one person with 800s said he'd like bigger. My 850s did fine.

Despite the wind that persisted until the sun went down...and almost took my tent away...we had a beautiful sunset and a nice evening around a fire. The next morning, we took off on the 2 mile hike to Colonnade Arch. It was a cool hike with lots of flowing cacti and other flowers. I think you could spend a whole day exploring just the area around the arch. There are also two other hikes, one to the Green River and the other to Tibbet's Cave, that we didn't get done and will have to go back to do. Definitely a cool place to check out and worth the trip!

Thanks Rob and Cary. I miss them too. I can’t take credit for the rocker. It was our friend’s that was with us. [emoji3]

I am back in Moab part time, flew over caveman a few times last week - it looks lonely.

I need to check our Keg Knoll! Looks really cool, thanks for the trip report

Hope it gets bought by someone that welcomes planes, such a great spot.

Rob B, might be time to step up. What a toy box that would make. :>)
