Ok, closer to 8 solo is what I’d expect. At that altitude probably closer to 7.

At 7000ft you’re probably close to 75% power with the throttle full open!

Not uncommon for me to run WOT! You're probably right on burn solo - when solo it's rare that I'm tracking fuel as closely, usually out for shorter hops. The longer hops it's wife + baggage along for the ride so we are around 1800# and now 8.8-9GPH is standard and tracked closely!
