L.A. TFR

did anyone else hear about this... Last week when Opie Dopie was in L A to raise money for his re election there was a TFR... Seems a guy in a 182 flew over L A into the TFR and was escorted to an airport by F 16's... where they promptly found 30 lbs of Marijuana in the plane... Bet he's sorry he didn't check with flight service before his flight.... [-X

Re: L.A. TFR

When I left LGB yesterday, I talked to an airport policeman about this. He said that when they arrested him, they asked him if he knew why they had forced him down. He said because of the pot in the back. To which they replied, "Oh really. Show us." The guy didn't have a clue. He must have thought that they were really getting tough on drugs bringing in the F-16s! They said that he tried to tell them that it was medicinal pot that he was transporting from point A to point B. They didn't buy it. Probably not the smartest guy to begin with. Goes to show you what just a little preflight planning can do for you!
