Lake Clark (bears)

I am interested this spring/summer to head over to Lake Clark area to see some bears. Some family friends will be coming from downstates and i already brought them to alot of places, but i myself havent treked down to LCNP to see the bears

Anyone have any good areas to check out, and any suggestions...feel free to shoot em my way :)

I have seen an amazing number of bears on a river in between Lake Clark and Iliamna. I can't remember the name but I will e-mail my inlaws and get back to you with the name.
Also at the entrance to lake clark pass on the coast side there are a few good areas.
I will get back to you with some names.

I was wrong, it is just south of Iliamna. Morraine Creek in the Katmai National Park. Timing is critical....third week in July is best.
Here is a map of the Katmai NP. http://www.nps.gov/katm/planyourvisit/u ... r_web1.pdf
When the fish are there the bears are there!!

Brooks Camp and Brooks Falls in Katmai N.P. My wife and I flew the 182 to King Salmon, and paid for the float plane ride to Brooks Camp. Bears everywhere.

On the way back to Homer, we flew the beach all along the Cook Inlet all the way to Mt Augustine. The tide was out. There were over a hundred bears in the tidal flats in Bruin Bay.

Hi All, You can also go to Silver Salmon creek, its straight across from Anchor Pt. on the west side of the inlet. The beach is good to land on and there is a wind sock, check the tide tables and winds. have fun!
