Landing gear
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
No, but titanium is an incredible metal. Light like aluminum, flexible and strong like steel. It's also quite corrosion resistant, unlike ferrous metals. The only downside(or upside) I can see is a different flex.

If I'm not mistaken, the Zlins and Sukois have had Titanium landing gears for many years. I'm not aware of any problems on those ships. On a side note, Titanium polishes out like a mirror. I suppose that would be because of its hardness.

Any metal will polish out like a mirror I think. Aluminum is pretty soft, and wow does it get shiny. Real chrome is just steele that is polished out to an extreme shine, then electroplated with a hard coating. I haven't seen much titanium polished but I'm sure it gets pretty shiny too.

$6,000 will buy a lot of stuff cooler than gear legs.
