Landing in the jungle strip

This is Corcovado national park landing strip, in Costa Rica .
Coming from the sea, no go around.
Its a lot easier than coming from the mountain, but you are fully commited once on final, and has to be a no wind condition.

Nice tires. Orange rims are a good touch.

Very good speed control. Are you using the airspeed indicator or have you tried the apparent brisk walk rate of closure approach?

Re: Landing in the jungle strip

Sweet! Unlike the Pacific Northwest, you get to fly over warm water. What is the beach like there? Do you have a sandy access area at the water's edge, or is it mangroves down by the water? Whatever the recreational opportunities are there, it looks like a fabulous place to visit. I saw water kick up as you touched down. Is the ground always wet there, or was there a recent rain?

Re: Landing in the jungle strip

The beach is not that good, lots of logs, tiny strip of sand, sharks and alligators.

There is a trail system in this national park, you can see pumas, ant bears, wild pigs, alligators, all virgin and primary rain forest.
Cristal clear rivers to swim, parrots all kinds of wildlife.
Really the best place to visit in Costa Rica, you can camp or sleep in the refuge.

Look this alligator close to my plane :)
