Gilbert, just check your POH and it should list an optional tire if it is approved. It will probably work on your plane but us guys with older planes are stuck with a 5:00 because we didn't have an optional tire for the front. I have a 69 150J and I can put a 6:00/6 on the front of it because it is an optional size but I can't put one on a 61 172B. I just got a new plane (actually older Plane) a 1960 175B with a 180 Avcon conversion and I think I am stuck with the same problem.
Several people have told me I can put the 8:00's on the mains without anything but a logbook entry but I can't find anything to confirm that. I know they will fit and there is no modifications needed. I have a 206 fork and two brand new 8:00/6's sitting on the hangar floor waiting to figure out how to get this done legally. I have had my license for less than a week and don't feel like risking it right now.
