Lear Jet Lawn Ornament...

Ok. I see there are alot of pilots here in the middle of the country.

Question, In the last few years I have made some cross country road trips from Wyo to Fla. While cruising down I-70 about 25 miles east of Kansas City in Mo there is a Lear Jet sitting off the side of the road on the north side. At first I thought is was some museum but the place looks like a private residence so hence the topic " lawn ornament. The last time I passed it was this summer and I did a google search on the N number, came back to a owner in Ga... Anybody got the lowdown ? Thanks in advance.

Ben.

Keep the shiney side up and the dirty side down...

I don't know the story behind it, but I know its been there for years and years - at least 15+ probably 20+. Of course I don't think a 23 Lear is worth much anyway - relatively speaking.

About $200,000 with good engines and tires.

YOU ARE REFERRING TO "WHITE AIRCRAFT SALVAGE". THEY BUY ALL SORTS OF AIRCRAFT AND SELL PARTS, I'VE BOUGHT A FEW MYSELF. THEY HAVE A LONG GRAVEL RUNWAY JUST TO THE NORTH(2M1-TRUMAN REGIONAL). SOMETIMES THEY FLY JETS INTO 3GV(10 MI. WEST) AND DISASSEMBLE THEM AND HAUL PARTS BACK BY TRUCK TO THEIR YARD.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Garyh is right, flown in there myself a couple of times to keep my stable going.

Driving to Dallas from Little Rock, we see an F-111 on the north side of I-30.
I took some pics, but I'm not sure where they're filed right now.

That'd be a heck of a personal cross-country bird, eh?

"Oh, look... a dead bird"

-looks up- "Where?"

I've seen this plane many times and even stopped along the highway to get a picture of it.
