I ran it pretty hard on the ground yesterday and switched the mags back and forth. I really couldn't tell any difference. The plane hadn't been annualed since 84 and it looks like all the wirings is original (50 years old) so I will just start replacing all the ignition stuff as I go.
As far as I know the plane has only flown about 10 hrs since the annual in 84. I am going to get some hrs on it and do an oil test. I hope it isn't a cam since it sat so long. I know a guy here that can do a dynamic balance on the prop so I will probably do that just to make sure it isn't the prop.
This economy has just kicked my butt so everything has to wait till money comes in. At least the plane is useable now and someday I will have a nice 175/180.
