With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Always great to read a success story, with a positive outcome....those guys are heroes. Landing out in the dark and wrestling someone around in a plane that may be on fire........good for them, and good on the paper for publishing this.
