Let's see your off airport approaches only

This subject was somewhat inspired by the approach contest by the Drifter. The big difference here, is that the content must be VIDEO and of OFF-AIRPORT ONLY. No prepared strips, grass, gravel and especially asphalt. No still shots.
I'll start this with some footage I just put together with my crummy old Gopro. I edited them down to get to the meat of the subject!

EDIT, stills acceptable only with video.

This was just before the Owyhees became a "Wilderness Study Area". Although, I believe this spot is still "Private Land"............

I know you said "No still shots". But, I'm a rule breaker and if it not me, somebody else will post still shots sooner or later. :D

And the view from the ridge line. (Picture does not do it justice!!)

I was working again today in the valley below this site, damn distracting.... I kept looking up and day dreaming about flying off and on it. Worse, I now have the idea to try it on the skis.

That's ok. I like rule breakers. Welcome to the club.
Acceptable as long as accompanied by a video.

Good apparent rate of closure approach by M6RV6 in his Wilga. May be on an airport, not sure.

I think I've seen that one before, nice approach and take off.

Isn't that at Clear Creek?

I think this more or less complies with the topic rules:

Not so sure about this one (SOP for washing Maule wheels):

Okay, I need to know what camera or set up on the Vimeo clip. Does the camera need to be connected to the GPS?

N-jacko, is that a Garmin VIRB?

Never used one but I expect that since it has a built-in GPS receiver, it bakes the track data into a meta file that accompanies the video file. The special Garmin video editing software will overlay that info for you if you wish. I think it's pretty damned cool.

Okay.. It's the Garmin VIRB. Lots of options for adding other gauges. Nice systems.

Re: Let's see your off airport approaches only

Yes, it's a VIRB elite, bolted to a tie down ring and operated from panel-mounted iPad. The VIRBedit software offers plenty of fancy gauges, but GPS reception is not optimal with the camera shielded under a metal wing.

Nice beach landing Moto, sand looks good and solid. We have several square miles of sand in the Solway firth (the bit of water on the left hand side of our island between England and Scotland), but some of it is what the locals call "sinking sand" so it needs to be almost dry and changing colour to carry 31" ABWs safely.

Greetings, I rarely get to BCP.org these days, but I was on today and here's an off airport video I made a couple of months ago:

You guys need to stop posting great videos like this. I thought I was focused on a cessna spamcan as my first plane.... guess I need two planes. One for fun, one for going places. I'll inform the wife.

N Jacko lived in Scotland for a year , was racing the British Enduro championship, nice memories , enjoyed it a lot have lots of good freinds :)
How much freedom do you have to land on beaches or pastures?
Knowing the terrain I bet is fun to fly there except I will worry about the fast low level Harriers and Tornados flying. :)
