Anyone have a hot tip? Got a quote from NY Life, the cost of term when given the experimental aircraft operations took my breath away. 5X that which they quoted on my non-pilot (and only) wife.

Minnesota Life. 10 year $1M is $700 per year with no pilot or experimental flying exclusions.

Just call around, one company acts like it's a big deal, the next one doesn't care.

Find a good broker and let them do the work for you. The deals are out there.
A broker costs you nothing, the industry is structured around the underwriter paying a brokerage fee.

I just got a quote and wish that I would have done it before I turned 50. Price is 40% higher.
All you guys in your 40’s, jump now if you want it. Save yourself some big bucks.

USAA has good coverage without a pilot exclusion. I have 1M on me, 500k spouse, on a 20 year policy for about $100 a month. We bought in our early 30's. It did include blood and drug testing one time to qualify.

I assume there is a price jump at 40 as well. I got mine in my mid 30s, and it surprises me how reasonable the rates are for significant amounts of coverage. That said, I do pay $30 more per month than my wife due to being a pilot.
