shortfield.com

Thanks for the checking out my site and sharing the link, Student BCP! I thought I'd provide a little information about the site:

shortfield.com is a free, non-commercial, online tool for backcountry aviation and airplane camping enthusiasts. The site is built around a database of United State s landing facilities, supplemented by a growing library of airport information contributed by users, including: airport wiki, pilot reports, photographs, approach videos, sectional maps, “uncharted airports”, and more!

I first built the site in 2000, but got sidetracked by other projects and didn't do much with it until I completely redesigned it last year. I think the site serves as a nice compliment to backcountrypilot.org because the focus is mostly on airstrip information.

Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.

Happy landings,
Chris

Great Site

Don't know if anyone else has checked this site out, shortfield.com, but it's pretty neat. ( not to say your's isn't Zane  ) Shortfield has vids of different dirt strips along with strip info. Sure beats wading throuth the crap on youtube. You guys that fly in & out of stuff like this every day should have some pretty good vids to add. I know I'd like to watch'em if you did. How bout it Mauleguy & Wup. Let's see some of your local stomping grounds.

For years I've been planning and thinking about an airstrip database, looks like this guy did the job for me. Nice site.

Butch, I've got no excuse now. You get 2 free slaps across the face with your british driving gloves when you see me next.
