Once I BS'd a bit with the sledhead (thanks for that Kevin) lion hunters who stage at the end of my driveway before tracking up MY powder on the way up to search for the big cats, I had to head out myself.

One of my solar customers needed a service call last weekend, no access in other then snowmobile so I was forced to fly in, then snowshoe 1/4 mile to the cabin. A pretty short touchdown over the barbed wire fence, then I laid down tracks, before stopping, for my takeoff runway, and then came around again, full stopped, and snowshoed to work.

Work done I headed south to check on a few other past job sites (free aerial condition inspection is a service I offer my local solar customers, whether they want it or not

), on the way many, many hillsides needed to be tracked up a bit.

Then, a REAL train wreck.....not some Hollywood star cratering, but 17 freight cars derailed a few days ago, and still there mostly.

On the way home I spotted some parked snowmobilers high up on a bench who seemed to be calling for help, they were waving frantically so of course I landed nearby and only then found they were only being friendly and not in need of assistance

Nice guys, one had a brother who's a pilot but he had no idea about this type of flying.

12 to 16" of fresh powder, 6 degree temps, and dead calm winds everywhere I went!
