My wife and I are flying our "finally completed" 180 to The Cheyenne area this coming weekend and would like to camp, any ideas?

I lived in Cheyenne for over 4 years, not much out there for backcountry airstrips. Maybe someone else will know? My only suggestion would be to check out Glendo, WY about 100 miles to the north. It's a nice grass strip near Glendo Reservoir and the town of Glendo is about a mile walk to the south if you want to get something to eat. I've never camped there before but I don't think anyone would care. You might want to call the airport manager listed on Airnav.

Glendo is fine for camping. Access to the water is a bit muddy.

The airstrip can be a little muddy sometimes too. I landed there once when it looked fine and I was throwing mud off of the tires. You can see where the water level comes up in the picture I posted. I'm sure it will be fine this time of year though.
