Planning a four or five day camping trip to the coast of Labrador Canada. Tentative route is New Hampshire to Caribou Maine to Sept-Iles (CYZV) to clear customs. Then up to Schefferville (CYKL) and camp for the night. Day two and three would take us north east to four or so villages: Voisey's Bay CVB2, Nairn CYDP, Natuashish CNH2, Hopedale CYOH, and Goose Bay CYYR to refuel.
If anyone has insight or recommendations for this part of the world I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Areas to camp, areas to avoid...

I am from Newfoundland originaly but now living in central Canada. I have not done any flying in that part of the Province, but my suggestion is to give Provincial Airlines a call, talk to one of their Twin Otter people. They will know all of those places like the back of their hand. The island of Newfoundland is great as well if you ever make it there some time.

What do you think of the weather potential for the first week of October. If it looks promising is it worth trying? Or just plain foolish?

September and October are in my opinion probably the best month's for flying weather on the east coast. May and June forget it. Always rain, drizzle and fog. So to answer your question, the weather that you get in October will be as good as you get all year. I am on the East Coast in NL now. The weather out here changes very quickly, sunny to drizzle and fog in a short time. There has already been a morning with snow in Labrador. Get a good weather briefing from the NavCanada people, they do a good job. You will love it out here, rugged terrrain, great scenary, lots of wildlife, and exceptional people. Enjoy your trip.

Please post whatever you find up there, I'll be heading to Northern Quebec/Labrador one of these days. We were just in Quebec City,wanted to keep heading northeast, but it'll have to wait.
