Looking for info 0-300 propeller

I was not aware this set up existed until I saw an ad for a 172 for sale.

Looking for info regarding 2 position variable pitch prop for O-300.

Info provided:

Per STC SA3-11

McCauley Hub P/N 2B36C7
Blade P/N 78K-2

Any knowledge shared about this set up would be appreciated. Mike

Re: Looking for info 0-300 propeller

I tried posting a link from the DRS for this stc # but for some reason it won’t paste as a direct link.
The STC is held by McCauley. Renewed in 2006.
Cheers,
Dave

I believe you need a rare O-300-B or O-300-E to make it work. Provisions in the case for oil transfer to the hub. Basically unobtainable. I ran across a B a few years ago, I can't remember what airplane or why, but it had a fixed pitch on it. They had gotten a good deal on the engine.

Re: Looking for info 0-300 propeller

I have this prop on my 172. To confirm its a McCauley 2B36C7 with 78K-2 blades and I'll have it for sale shortly. Are you still looking for one?
