Looking for instructor.

First off love this group. I get to live vicariously through you guys. I have finally saved enough money to get my private license. I was wondering what the best way to find an instructor. I live in Weatherford Tx. I really don't want to go to a flight school. Would rather find an individual. Thanks again.

Re: Looking for instructor.

I've tried to keep a tailwheel and backcountry flight instructor list building over the last few years, but it's still pretty slim:

Currently only showing 3 in TX (that have submitted their info.)

He falls asleep a lot, sometimes in the middle of a thought. Don't worry about it. ;-)

I know an ol' crusty that will put you through the ringer up at Vernon. That may be too far away, but if you're interested, let me know. He has a place to bunk there at the airport, so that makes it handy to go and stay for a few days if you can spare the time.

If he's a tailwheel/backcountry type instructor, ask if he wants his information posted in our knowledge base.

Zzz he is not a back country pilot unfortunately but it will at least get me started and I will have to find someone to learn back country flying after I get my license.
