lunch at Carthage, NC
Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!
My better half and I took some good advice from RDUStinson and dropped into Carthage, NC for lunch last week. Until now, I have not cared much for North Carolina bbq but the Pik n Pig in Carthage was worth the trip! Mmmmmm....

Keith, it sounds like our next discussion needs to include a debate about the merits of eastern NC vs. Georgia barbecue. It's entirely possible that you may have received some bad advice regarding good examples of the style.
Unfortunately the Pik 'N Pig is the only place I know of that we can fly in to...

Haha... now this should get some debate going.... discussing the good, bad, and ugly of bbq. Anyway, the Pik n Pig was a good choice. Meat cooked over a real wood fire.... moist and not overcooked. I like it.

You guys are making my mouth water. I was raised in VA and there was a guy that smoked his own pork out back and sold it at his drive- in---nothing better than BBQ,coleslaw, dill pickle, and hot sauce. Looking through my Dad's old log books---he to my Mom down to Rocky Mount for BBQ at Overton's in 1963---wonder if it still exists?

On Many occasions I have flown for BBQ. There are many places to land and get a car in Texas and throughout the south. Since I live in eastern NC, I guess i need to try it. It looks like you can Taxi right up.
