Track My Spot
Neat trick. I always carry some steel wool in the survival kit in my plane. Doesn't weigh anything, and when combined with the 9V battery from my headphones, makes for a handy alternate means of starting a fire.

I save the dryer lint that comes off the screen, put it in a ziploc bag, toss in a new BIC lighter, and throw it in the baggage compartment. I also carry at least one road flare, stick matches, and another 3 or 4 BIC type lighters.
