I have my days off coming up here, and I wanted to finally get some float time in since most of the ice is gone, figured take my girl and my pup out for some camping and fishing.
One of my friends (not a pilot though) said I should check out Carry Falls he was just canoeing there and reported it was nice, nothing floating and just a fun and quiet spot.
Does anyone have any experience with float ops at Carry Falls Reservoir, probably beaching on Maple Island?
I see it's listed in the seaplane directory, but no other info.
From the different satellite pics and the paddling website write up, it looks like a nice gradual sandy beach, 1,355MSL, nothing too crazy.
Figured probably end up landing SW between the northern island and the lower ones based on the contour map of where the deeper water is and our normal winds.
Right now my thought was to get somewhat shallow, ICO, and hop off and pull her in beaching nose out wheels up as the sand doesn't look like it'll make a mess of my painted Edos.
Maybe try my luck at catching vs just fishing too
Thoughts?
Thanks
