Mary Rosenblum

Saw this on a couple other sites.
Supercub pilot Mary Rosenblum was killed in a crash sunday,
apparently in the process of landing at Daybreak Skyranch near LaCenter WA.

I didn't know her, but apparently she was an avid pilot and was active in the Ladies Loves Taildraggers group.
It's selfish of me, but I have to admit that my first thought was that I hope this doesn't effect the owner's "open door" policy at Daybreak.
The Swansons have always been extremely generous in letting others share their little gem of an airstrip--
even when the behavior of some visitors has been less than exemplary.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

Re: Mary Rosenblum

Mary offered me a ride back from Minam to Scappoose when I got stuck with engine trouble.

This is very sad.

My sincere condolences to Mary's friends and family.

It's often hard to tell from the news reports but it sounds like she may have gone down just south of the field.

Life is good. Life is better with wings.

Re: Mary Rosenblum

Met her briefly at a Christmas party a few years ago. Nice lady.

I hate to see this stuff no matter who it is, and especially at a beloved nearby strip.

Re: Mary Rosenblum

Mary was a really sweet person. I knew her well. She was talking about flying to Alaska with us this summer. She loved her Super Cub on 31s that she got about a year and a half ago. She was so pumped about flying she bought a house and hangar on an air park no far from here.

She was a past president of the Oregon Pilots Association. A huge loss for us Oregon pilots. Mary will be missed by everyone who knew her!
