Wondering how this compares,
I am considering putting hull insurance on my Maule. For years I've only carried liability. Just got a quote from my agency.... Forest Agency... in Chicago. I have had my liability insurance with them for many years. They quoted $1,125.00 annual for one million liability and $50,000.00 hull. Fifty grand is quite a bit less than I payed for the airplane 9 years ago....but probably a bit more than it is worth now.
I had expected a much larger amount for the hull. Only $865.00. The liability is $260.00. Does that compare to what others are paying? It sounds almost good to be true. I have thousands of hours of tailwheel time and 700 hours in the Maule, ATP, accident, incident and violation free. Age 64. Just wondering if this quote sounds legit.

Living the Dream
I don't fly a Maule, I fly a Cessna 182. I have about 1400 hours in it and another 835 hours in a Cessna 170. The quote I got this year was lower than I have paid in some time. It was $774. for full coverage. I don't have the breakdowns with me. But last year I paid a little over $1000.
So your insurance doesn't seem out of line to me.

That sounds about right. On 2nd thought, it sounds real good for a tail wheel Maule.

Over 500 hrs in type I think is definitely helping. That's a great premium for $50k hull on a taildragger, and a Maule to boot. Your 30k+ hrs PIC prob doesn't hurt.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Sounds pretty reasonable to me. I just insured my M7 6 months ago for about 2.5 x's that amount...however, the hull value is significantly more and I only had 50hrs of Maule/tailwheel time at that time. I asked Jeremy at maules.com when I got the quote and he seemed to think it was a good deal based on my experience...I have to agree.

Thats a heck of a deal. This is what I was looking at when I first started to fly my maule. Student pilot in 2008

Needless to say I only have liability coverage
