It is unfortunate that I cannot make it to Johnson Creek this weekend. Nothing I like better that shootin the breeze with like thinking folks. Just to much to get done on the ranch. Will be in the Cahllis area of Idaho the following weekend. Anybody land at May airport before. It is about 15 miles east by north easts of Challis.
Just want to look arround for a place to build a cabin. Then maybe a night at Chamberlin Basin or Smiley Creek.

Have not landed there. Have driven by there, and it looked like a pretty easy strip that was out in the open. Don't recall seeing any large trees around the strip. Mostly a crop duster strip out in a sagebrush flat.

Flew over the strip a few months ago. Looked like it would not be difficult. I was going to land on it just for kicks but I looked wet so I opted not to. It appears to have quite a slope to it though. There is a private strip farther south that some rich guy lands his jet on. It is paved and it's big.

I've been into May several times over the years, its a typical back country Idaho strip, look it over good before committing, but its always been OK when I've been in there. Expect no services in the "town" of May.
