Merry Christmas, everyone. Keep HIM in mind--He's why we're celebrating, right?

Re: Merry Christmas all!

As opposed to "Police Navidad"

That's where the Christmas party gets out of hand and the cops are called! :x

What kind of message is my wife sending me? I wonder if she has recently increased the life insurance on me?

Re: Merry Christmas all!

Merry Christmas, everyone! Thankful for the good friends I've made here.

Took a dorky photo last night with a scarf on to make it more merry, nearly got heatstroke in the time it took to take the shot. :)

Re: Merry Christmas all!

This was given to me by my friend Don. Though NAC does not do the 6's anymore, Tis a good Opine!!

My friend Norm Israelson wrote this poem for an Alaska airfreight company, Northern Air Cargo. NAC used to use lots of DC-6s here in the state.
GT

"Here's another I wrote for Northern Air Cargo years ago....

Santa's Sub contract

This is a tale
... Only known to a few
About when Santa Claus certified
Sleigh Number Two.

Far up in the Arctic
The Eskimos know
That Santa can't hack it
When it's 60 below.

The distance is too great,
The weather's too tough,
It's dark all the time
And the runway's too rough.

The chimneys smoke always
And besides they're too small
And its slippery as heck
And the old fat man might fall.

But Santa keeps care
Of those close to his home
So some time ago
He had a meeting in Nome.

He checked and rechecked
Then sub contracted the best,
He chose N.A.C.
And dismissed all the rest.

Only Northern Air Cargo
Could handle the mix
And deliver on time
With a big DC 6.

Ever since, Christmas up north
Has been working out great
The sleigh's a lot bigger
And hauls way more freight.

The kids hear all the stories
And listen to rhymes
That are altered a bit
To reflect modern times.

We heard two kids talking
Christmas Eve in their bed
All wide eyed and excited
And here's what was said:

"Rudolph's not a reindeer!!
I saw him you see
He was steering up front
And his name's Captain Lee.

He's got a big silver sled
Filled with presents for all!!
When they taxiied out slowly
I heard Santa call...

On Pratt! and On Whitney!
It's late in the day
We've more gifts to deliver
Gear up and Away!"

And the radio squawked
As they roared out of sight,
"Sleigh Two, off at 50,
MERRY CHRISTMAS and GOOD NIGHT!"

Norm Israelson"
