Money Grab- proposed tax in Connecticut

Aviation in Connecticut is facing a potential property tax levy on aircraft as well as tax on labor for aircraft maintenance. The property tax would be in addition to registration fees already collected on the local level. The annual tax for a $75,000 plane would be $1,050. Many pilots are already talking about moving planes to New York, Massachusetts or Rhode Island since there is no property tax on the bordering states. Relocating the plane isn't a big deal since the state is so small. Just wondering how many of you have to deal with property tax on aircraft. The whole idea strikes me as another money grab since the state doesn't do much, if anything, for aviation.

Here in Idaho we pay a "registration fee" of 1 cent per pound of gross weight per year instead of taxes on planes. That means my C-172 is $22.00 per year. We also pay $12.00 every 2 years for a pilot registration, but the state law says that money cannot be used for any purpose except search and rescue so I don't mind paying that.
